Mississippi State University, College of Veterinary Medicine is currently seeking applicants for a new full time 12 month position in the Pathology/Population Medicine Department for a graduate veterinary internship position.
The intern will work under the direction of MSU-CVM faculty and will conduct epidemiological research to address sea turtle and marine mammal stranding and mortality on the Gulf coast. Under supervision of the MSU-CVM faculty, the intern will participate in necropsy and disease investigation of sea turtles and marine mammals at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies (IMMS). The intern will also provide supervised clinical service to stranded sea turtles, respond to stranding calls from the public, and participate in public outreach and veterinary program teaching. After hours and weekend work is expected. In addition to working with the MSU-CVM veterinarian, the intern will work closely with IMMS staff.
