The Veterinary Internship is a one-year position with the possibility of a second year. The Intern will assist the Veterinary and C.A.R.E. staff in providing medical management for Gulfarium’s diverse collection as well as sea turtles in rehabilitation. They will also have the opportunity to learn from other departments including Husbandry/ Training and Life Support. The primary emphasis in the Gulfarium internship is clinical work, allowing the intern to learn and advance their diagnostic and medical skills such as cytology, radiography and ultrasound, surgery, and gross necropsy. The Intern will assist with teaching two weekend aquatic animal electives during the year for Auburn and Tuskegee veterinary students.
